Transcending Hearing Guilt: Engaging With Compassion

August 13, 2020 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm CDT

Title is overlaid in front of a purple-blue starry night sky.

In today’s society, more and more hearing people are waking up to privilege and oppression and wondering how they fit in this complex system. When we do not understand the context and our role in it, guilt or shame may arise and leave many people confused. How do we build deeper cross-cultural alliances in a world of uncertainty and stress?

Throughout this training, you’ll learn how to recognize the difference between shame and guilt and how either can lead to hearing guilt. You will also learn more about audism and how to build a healthy anti-audist identity while honoring your space.
